DISTRACT YOURSELF NOW!!!

I have found one of the BEST ways to NOT think about your EX, is to totally distract yourself. I’m talking about some fun things. Things that are relaxing or maybe even invigorating, and perhaps put a smile on your face. Maybe with some hobbies you didn’t do anymore when you were with your Ex, or perhaps a NEW skill you would like to learn??

Here are some ideas……in case your brain is stumped. Talking about the “brain”, more often than not after a break up, the brain is very stressed and depleted of “feel good” hormones. You need to find a way to not only distract yourself, but to “feel good”, and jump start your brain chemistry.

Some of these ideas may not resonate with you at all – that is fine. I’m just throwing out ideas. But maybe a few will Inspire you!!!

1. GET A MASSAGE —> MY FAVORITE!!!!!! Love, love, love this one. Plus, don’t underestimate the value of being touched (in a non-sexual way) during this healing process. Does Wonders. Scouts honor!
2. EXPLORE YOUR INNER ARTIST

*Painting
*Photography
3. GET YOUR ROCK STAR ON !
*Play the guitar, piano, violin, drums—>Whatever instrument you want!
*Look into taking local lessons in your community.
*Dress Up and Go Sing Karaoke with your friends!!
*Grab your favorite CD’s, get in your car, go drive down a long stretch of road, and SING your heart out!!!
4. DANCE SISTA!
*Take a local dance class in hip-hop, ballroom, ballet, whatever! Why Not? I’m a dancer, and I’ve met some hotties {lol} in my dance classes.
*Dress up and go “Clubbin” with your friends, where they play the hottest dance music!
*Go to youtube.com, type in your favorite dance song, and just DANCE!!! It’s free, fun —>I do it all the time.

5. EXPRESS YOURSELF!!
*Get a TATTOO??!! One of my best friends got a tattoo during her breakup, and it TOTALLY empowered her

6. CURL UP WITH A NEW BOOK & A CUP OF TEA/COFFEE 😉

7. WATCH THAT GREAT MOVIE, SHOW or DOCUMENTARY YOU’VE BEEN WANTING TO SEE. I was ALL NETFLIX during my breakup, and still love it.

10. TAKE A SCENIC, NATURE WALK

11. LAUGH
* Watch comedies. This helped me ALOT after my break-up. Laughing changes your brain chemistry.
*Get together with your goofiest friends and chill out. You know they make you laugh!

13. TRAVEL—> I found it really helpful to plan mini-trips for myself. It took my out of my home, with all the memories, and helped me create new ones with a new happier view for my present/future. This definitely helped me alot to open my perspective on the world, and there was more to it – than just “him”. See what special deals you can find. I am not kidding. Grab your best friend and fly away for a day or so. It’s awesome. A Change of scenery does help heal the heart at times.

14. HELP OTHERS THAT ARE IN NEED.
*Look in your local paper where volunteers are needed. Especially during holidays if you feel very lonely.

15. TAKE WORKSHOPS OR CLASSES. This is another thing I did, which eventually changed the course of my career, into a much more exciting one. I may have never taken the class I did, without the break-up.
